Relief Rounds Connector links a WordPress site to Relief Rounds, WebSite Relief’s self-hosted management hub at hub.websiterelief.com. With it installed, the hub can watch the site, update it safely, back it up and build its monthly client report. It’s installed on every site WebSite Relief manages, including this one, so WebTestCenter itself is monitored and backed up through the hub. It works in the background and has no front end, so there’s no public test bench for it.

What it enables

  • Monitoring: uptime, response time and SSL certificate checks, with alerts.
  • Remote updates: WordPress core, plugin and theme updates run from the hub, with a full backup taken first. If the backup fails, the update is held back.
  • Backups: runs UpdraftPlus backups on demand from the hub, and reports the latest backup to the dashboard and client portal.
  • Monthly reports: site health, updates and backups, plus visitor numbers from Google Analytics (through Site Kit) and a Wordfence security summary when those plugins are present.
  • Security alerts: new Wordfence issues of Medium severity or higher, the firewall being turned off, Wordfence being deactivated, or scans stalling.
  • One-click admin login from the hub, so no passwords are stored there.

How it connects

On activation the Connector creates a private connection key, shown under Settings → Relief Rounds. Pasting that key into the hub links the two. Every request from the hub is signed with it, and the Connector rejects anything unsigned or incorrectly signed. The Connector never holds storage credentials.

Requirements

WordPress 6.0+ and PHP 7.4+ (runs on PHP 8.3 and 8.5). Optional extras: UpdraftPlus for backups, Site Kit with Google Analytics for visitor numbers, and Wordfence for the security summary. Without them, those sections are simply left out.

Install

  1. Upload relief-rounds-child.zip in Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin and activate it.
  2. Copy the connection key from Settings → Relief Rounds.
  3. In the hub, go to Relief Rounds → Add site and paste the key.
